Maame is a third-year student at the Maxwell Institute for Mathematical Sciences (University of Edinburgh and Heriot-Watt University) under the Mathematical Modelling, Analysis and Computation programme.
She has a passion for applying statistical and mathematical techniques to address real-world problems, specifically those related to health and well-being. Through various health-related projects ranging from cancer to infectious disease modelling, she has developed the understanding she believes is a strong foundation for contributing to ongoing health dialogue and research.
Maame’s goal is that through this internship, she will develop more advanced skills and practical experience for working with health data to ensure that upon graduating, she is a well-rounded professional who is fully equipped to tackle the crucial questions arising in the health sector.
